Individual Psychotherapy

Individual therapy is a protected hour to work on what keeps repeating — the anxiety that will not settle, the grief that has nowhere to go, the pattern you can name but cannot interrupt. Sessions are held in person at the Vista office or by secure video anywhere in California.

Working through burnout, pressure, or the demands of a leadership role? See therapy for professionals in North County for how individual psychotherapy fits into that work.

Individual Psychotherapy — common questions

How long does individual therapy take?
Most clients meet weekly for three to six months, then taper. Some focused work finishes sooner; depth-oriented trauma work often runs longer. We review progress together rather than assuming a fixed course.

Do you take insurance for individual sessions?
Sessions are $190, or $180 when you pay cash. I am in network with Aetna and a certified out-of-network provider for TRICARE West; a superbill is provided for other out-of-network reimbursement.

What happens in the first session?
The first session covers history, current stressors, and what you want to be different. You leave with an initial sense of direction, not a diagnosis lecture.
