Brainspotting Therapy

Brainspotting uses where you look to access where you hurt. By holding a fixed eye position tied to an activated feeling, the brain processes material that language often circles without touching. It is particularly effective for single-event trauma, complicated grief, and the physical residue of long-term stress. Integration and healing of anxiety or trauma is achieved wiht Brainspotting in the presence of a safe therapeutic space while listening to specialized music that travels from ear to ear designed to activate bilateral brain stimulation.

Brainspotting Therapy — common questions

What does a Brainspotting session feel like?
You hold a fixed eye position tied to an activated feeling while I stay attuned with you. Processing is mostly internal — images, sensations, and memories surface and settle, often with far less talking than usual.

How many Brainspotting sessions will I need?
Single-event trauma can shift in one to three sessions. Complicated grief or long-term accumulated stress usually takes longer and is often paired with ongoing individual therapy.

Is Brainspotting the same as EMDR?
They share roots in bilateral, brain-body processing, but Brainspotting uses a sustained eye position rather than repeated eye movements and follows where your system leads.

How long are Brainspotting sessions?
Fifty to ninety minutes. Longer sessions are often used so processing can complete and close with grounding before you leave.
